Google releases new App -Open Spot

Breaking News! Google released a new Android application called 'Open Spot' for the users to find and share parking. By the help the new app, the users will be able to update the current map regarding the parking spots.


The new app 'Open Spot' is quite simple. It displays open parking spots within a 1.5km/0.9 mile radius of where you are. The spots are coded with colour and will be displayed for twenty minutes only according to users' time setting.


However, there are some limitations in the application. The spot will appear marked as 'fresh' within five minutes. After that, there may not be availability of the spot for parking. On the other hand, the application will only be useful if it is adopted on large scale.

Hyundai Motor India, India's second largest car manufacturer has launched its luxury SUV Santa Fe, priced between Rs 20.95 lakh - Rs 22.95 lakh. The company aims at selling 600 to 800 units a year. "Bookings will start from October 18", Hyundai India's Director, Marketing and sales Arvind Saxena said after the launch of the crossover SUV in Jodhpur. Hyundai India aims to sell 100 to 150 units in 2010.

"In India Santa Fe will be imported as completely built units (CBU) from South Korea", Saxena said. Hyundai has no plans to manufacture the car in India in the near future.

The SUV will be available with 2.2 L engine and six speed manual transmission, with an option of 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive.According to Hyundai this diesel vehicle has mileage of 14.66 km per litre.

Speaking at the launch, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motors India H W Park said, "Globally, Santa Fe has already sold over 20 lakh units since its launch in June 2000 and we are confident that in India, Santa Fe will give us a competitive edge in the SUV segment..."

With the launch of the second generation Santa Fe, Hyundai aims to grab a bigger share of the highly competitive SUV segment in the country. With this launch, Hyundai now has seven models in the country, including the popular i10.


The SUV is named after the capital of New Mexico, USA. The Hyundai Santa Fe made its debut in 1999 at the Detroit Auto Show as concept car. The first generation Santa Fe was launched in 2000, followed by the second generation in 2005.

The Santa Fe is Hyundai's third SUV to be launched in India, the other two are the Terracan and the Tucson.

Apple announced its new MacBook Air today at a special "Back to Mac" event in Cupertino. Air will now be offered in two screen sizes, with a 13.3-inch screen, which is the same size as the previous generation, and a new yet smaller version that will include a 11.6-inch screen. The two systems will include the 6:55 hours of battery life, flash storage and full size keyboards and track pads.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs Will Dead ???

London, Feb 17 (IANS) Apple founder and CEO Steve Jobs has terminal pancreatic cancer and may live for just six more weeks, a media report said Thursday.
The 55-year-old Jobs in January announced that at his request, the board of directors granted him a medical leave of absence so that he could focus on his health.


Since then, employees have said Jobs can still be seen at the company's headquarters in California and is also calling all the strategic shots from his home.
Now, new pictures have been published in the tabloid National Enquirer, which suggest things may be worse for the the man behind the iPod, iPhone and iPad.
The report said Jobs is stricken with pancreatic cancer and may have just six weeks to live.
The new photos show him looking painfully frail and weak, with his jeans and dark top hanging loosely on his six-feet-two-inches, frail body, the Daily Mail reported.
